-------------------------------------------------

1. Grafton Street:

1. Grafton Street:

The people, they just pass him by
Footsteps, but no-one blinks an eye
Snow flakes, bite into his face
Old blanket, clings it to his chest

Where does he come from, what's his name?
What's his story, why's he on this street?
Where does he come from, what's his name?
The blanket falls, and now he's on your street

The busker, she plays to passers by
Does she sing, or does she cry out loud?
Drop a coin, watch her fake a smile
The tune dies, a single mother cries

Where does she come from, what's her name?
What's her story, why's she on your mind?
Where does she come from, what's her name?
The silence hurts, and now she's on your mind

The reliance won't let go now
She won't pass this by now
Holding onto your best side

The painter, paints a solemn face
A halo searching for some grace

2. Down To The Sea:

Dear Australia...

I saw you standing there.
Waiting by the edge of your street
Wave to me and i'll pick you up.
Drive you down to the sea

Is it okay to be missing you now?
'Cause i'm not sure that I know how...

So now we drive away.
Remember the songs that we played?
Though i'm still not sure what it is.
It lures me down to the sea

(Tim & Joe, Lost in Ireland, March 2006)

3. Mr Ayr (Acton Town London):

Mr Ayr lived at number 1.
He would talk to anyone.
Strange conversations and his Crazy Hair...
It would stick up everywhere - Alright!

Sneak out past his flat,
Late at night.
Sticks his head out and gives us a fright
"Join us at the pub for a conversation" / "Sorry Sir that don't mix with my medication!"

Hey Mr Ayr what'ya doin' today?
Watching TV's not the only way...
A walk in the park now what'ya say?
Hey My Ayr what'ya doin' today?

The ambulance came to take him away
West Acton felt so cold that night!
Hey Mr Ayr what'ya doin' today? Hey?!

Hey Mr Ayr... When's the last time you called your wife?
Percy...... You let your work take over your life.

4. Villers Bretonneux:

Cher Soldats,

Villers-Bretonneux - where did you go?
The sun will rise again.
We went for a walk to a near frozen death
But the sun did rise again...

For just one night we took the test
To feel the icy breath of the trench
And when the sun came up at dawn let's say -
We were lucky to be alive.

With what we saw here... It's so sore here.

Villers-Bretonneux - where did she go?
These monuments whisper truths
About a pathway tinged with Green & Gold
To The Somme - D.A McGreggor's grave.

It's so sore here... With what we saw, hear...

"Nous ne sommes pas perdus... Maintenant
Maintenant nous sommes chauds!"

5. Paris (a ghost devotion cover):

City skyline takes me away
Rocking back and forth - on a homebound train
See my life evaporate
Because you weren't there

The crows outside all laugh inside
I wonder if they know - they've seen everything
My books won't help me any more
Because you weren't there

Oh sweet Paris - I miss you
But I never really knew you

Sneak into the only place that's safe
Wander round inside my mind
Oh for an escape
But all i want to feel is your lonely embrace
And I know somewhere
Yes I know somewhere you are asleep

Paris...

It's A Bit Far Away

1. Escape

So i try...
Because you told me to
And i know it's only true?
If i escape..
Too far way
To leave these notes for you

Then should i fly
Beneath the sky
Beneath the soil now
This is where my pursuit seems to land, oh
Am i wasting time in this earthbound lonely scene / sea ?

Now i strive...
To recognise
Why the ocean drowned out all your dreams
Have i lost you yet?
Now i'm lost in my own driveway
Hoping that the wind will blow me far away

It's a bit too far away..
It's a bit too far away..
Can you hear me when i say?
Can you show me my escape?
And now that i understand...
It's still written into the sand...

2. Imagination Notebook

I wrote another note for you
I read this line was coming true
I'll blame the wind i won't blame you

You were alone and no one knew
How could this story have come true?
I'll blame the wind i won't blame you

When you feel like drowning
And nobody's listening
Well i'll take your hand
And i'll be your friend
And i will talk to you

Ba ba ba ba da ba ba
I found another side to you
It was the one that's shining through
Across the oceans green and blue...
You were alone and no one knew
How could your starry eyes shine through?
I'll blame the wind i won't blame you?

When you feel like drowning
And nobody's listening
Well i'll take your hand
And i'll be your friend
And i will talk to you

Ba ba ba ba da ba ba
I wrote another note for you
This time, i couldn't send it through
I'll blame the wind i won't blame you...
I wish i talked to you

3. She is a pilgrim

She is a pilgrim
We walk into the night...

And i walked too far away from her
Now i can't find my way back to her
And she can't find her way back to me
So now i walk on through the city

She walks beneath the stars
Something special up above
Illuminates the path of lost notes...

And i walked too far away from her
Now i can't find my way back to her
And she can't find her way back to me
So now we walk into the sea...

I'll try sailing
I've been flying high
Faith is diminishing
Take me back to the pilgrimage
I'll do anything
As you've done everything
I can just see the lighthouse
But when i make it back will you let me in...?

4. Matthew Flinders: 1801

When you're sailing - for your horizons
They're a bit far away
You might never reach them
But you won't be sorry you tried
The clock on the wall talks like a heartbeat
But like everything, it fades in time and flies
With the wind that carries the remains
Of a past world

Why am I stuck so far inland?
When I wanna be lost like a grain of sand
Which Matthew Flinders walked upon
Through distant shores in 1801

Now you're still alone
Drifting, you can just make out the cliffs
You're closer when you drift
Nostalgia - is worth the risk
Does a sailor love a long lost memory..
Does she love the future of the melody?

Why am I stuck so far inland?
When I wanna be lost like a grain of sand
Which Matthew Flinders walked upon
Through distant shores in 1801
Why am I stuck so far from land?
I don't wanna be lost like a grain of sand
Of which Matthew Flinders dreamt upon
Distant shores in 1801

5. Stars (reoccurring)

Falling out from a world so cruel
You're far away from reality and I won't try
To bring you back...
Cos you're - oh - so - far away

Separate yourself from this
It's a solo dance, in the Mission Hall
As you wait for dawn
..Is this world falling apart?

I saw you dancing
Before the stars were reoccurring
Occurring...

Falling into a world so beautiful
A complacent view was all you knew
When you took this drug
Before gravity expired

Once more i will count it down until
Fireworks send you to a far off galaxy
In your mind...
Is this world falling apart..?

I saw you dancing
Before the stars were reoccurring
Occurring...

6. Answers are so far away

Looking out for a sign
For a sign, in the desert skyline
So you blame confusion
But you know it's better to give

The Spanish Steps were dancing
In line with some foreign time-zone
A roll of film could not make this
More like real love on hold

Understand i will stand down
This is just me passing time
I never meant to drag you into this
Covertly flooded spotlight

I respect the modesty shown
By the warming crowds
Distracting me, retracting us
From a real path in life

But it is better to give...
oh yeah, it is better to give....
But when we give we take
And when we mend we break
And now you dream back to that train...
And if you wait for me
Then i will wait for you
Across the partisans escape

And now it's so far away
You slowly dance into the waves
Now you're so far away
Please slow down this speeding train of thought
It's so far away...
How could you understand these lost and found melodies?

They're so far away
And i saw you dance into the waves
Distance between right and wrong, helped me to understand
The answers are so far away...

7. Imperfect Harmonies

Now i know that something's not right inside with you
There was that look you gave and those words exchanged
When you were feeling oh-so-low...
And now you search for things you know are high above
But fear you just can't find down there
Unless you climb the fret-board one more time...

There is a point at which i suddenly re-drift
It's then that close becomes so far
From this thing they speak of in 'reality'
It must be somewhere near to here..
And now i must admit.. i am lost at sea with this verse
But if i climb the fret-board one less time...

Forever we may be singing imperfect harmonies
Forever we may be searching for perfect harmonies
Forever we may be singing imperfect harmonies
Forever we may be waiting for perfect harmonies...?

8. Ok drift
Should i try...?

Bushfire

1. Bushfire:

A bushfire is raging in the hills
Ominous hot winds send haunting smells of charred
Eucalypt across the plains

Farmer Jim looks out across his land
Sweat upon his brow and his face it shows somehow
This story is about to explode

Wait for the sirens to sound
Wait for the silence to surround

On and on the finance is on hold
Smokescreens drifting through and through
Industrial estate, sweatshops commute in paradox of fate

The parables you read may come true
So think of that house they lost
You don't even know them, but you sure as hell owe them
More than a photograph

Wait for the sirens to sound
Wait for the silence to surround?

2. Midnight Oils:

Make it up now set the stage again
Studios, producers' game they play
Marketing tools, forgotten fame
Talent scouts or image pays this chain?

Think I might not make it on my own
Doesn't matter where the stories told it's cool
Did you forget all you learnt at school?
Then this is not a hobby anymore

They don't sing it like the Midnight Oils
You wouldn't listen if you knew it so,
You're letting California take it's toll

Smash it up on your TV screen yeah, yeah,
Maybe borrow someone else's frown
We propose you all to take a listen how
The Midnight Oils they blue-sky-mined our nations music pride!

We won't sing it like the Midnight Oils
We wouldn't listen if we knew it so,
We're letting California take it's toll
We don't sing it like the Midnight Oils

LNF Self Titled Album:

1. All Your Stories:

Maybe music will save me
It seems the only way
I try to overtake my past
But memory lane is to fast

So don't you fall out of the sky for me
Because if I don't wake tomorrow say goodbye
Say goodbye
'Cause these are scenes that never satisfy

And there's a path for you
It's ordinary
It's secondary
And it's chemistry
And there's a calling out for
All your stories
So hold them near
And hold them dear

Maybe music will save me
But it isn't the real way my friend
So help me streamline this chord again
Before broken strings amend
'Cause these are scenes that never satisfy

2. Orange Lights:

Sitting here inside this strange room
Hear the clock tick down as you choose
Orange lights and the choices weigh you down
As you discover that there's more to life than this

The cross awaits it's a weight on your back
But you're waiting on times which hold you back
You hold the key, I said that you hold the key
But drink it down and now this guitar is black

Where did grace go and when did your lights change?
Now you're waiting on a heart that froze in time...

3. Fall Again:

Light shines through her window pane
There is one last ray of hope this day
They'll fight their cause and they'll cause their flight
Sink or swim - they say the choice is yours

And they fall again
So you and I can spend

Sentence lies in wait of call
Letter arrives back home she prays he won't fall
Running now and he's almost there
At the edge as those kids just stare
Siren sounds but it's all too late

And they fall again
So you and I can spend

Rise above, rise above
The troubles of war, memories tall
We've got to rise above

4. A Place Called Low:

Found my way to a place called low
Don't know why but we let this go
Tripped and fell on a broken vase
Where the flowers grow by the healing path

Tried to explain in subtle phrase
But we need to find the right words again
Someday you may finally rise
And this phrase could take you past the stars

You know I'll be waiting for you
For the rain and for the storm
You know I'll be waiting with you
For the rain and for the calm

Forgiveness is the only way up
But the dust has settled on your trust
Some day we may finally rise
And this phrase could take us past the stars

You know I'll be waiting for you
For the rain and for the storm
You know I'll be waiting with you
For the rain and for the calm

You know, you know,
You know we let this go

Find a way:

Don't loose your dreams in purple robes
Don't waste your days in searching fools gold
What matters most won't always please
Just live your life the best that you can be

Look out across the beautiful sea
The sun will rise upon the smile that you leave
Don't give up hope the tide will turn
So lift your head you've got so much to learn

And you will find a way to let this go
These artificial highs won't feel so low
Yeah you'll find a way to let this go
But who'll be there to know? So let her know

Don't turn your back on a good mans word
Don't waste those gifts your talents thirst
The life you lead means more to me
But next time round you'll surely see

6. Blackthorn Winter:

Have you noticed time is running out?
Look around you see the blackthorn winter's here again
Did you think that families came for free?
Now you see the man and he's falling to his knees

Ransom flowers in your hair but that was years ago
Suppose I did remind you then, how does a flower grow?
Break into the picture frame and history will show
These are all our lessons, life, learn with me and grow?

Trace it back your past is turning black
You'll find out things and forgive all that ash

Did you think that families came for free?
Well forget me, forget me, and forgive all that ash
Remember when she traced your family tree?
Forgive me, forgive me, and forgive all that ash

Have you noticed time is running out?
Look around you see the blackthorn winter's here again

7. Four Leaf Clover Town:

Weeks go by, still no reply
Time to move on, step into the light
I found a penny, under the bus stop
They say that's good luck and it was

Your silence is gold, but to me gold means nothing
I'd rather words, or beautiful notes played
I met a girl who believed in my world
And she inspired me to play this note?

I will write too many lines
And I will sing if you can find yourself
In all this darkness
I will find new peace of mind
And I will walk between the signs

In a Four Leaf Clover Town
So would you care, if I took away your note?
Well it's only fair, that I returned you a pair
The ocean is a moat, keeps shadows from me heart
Until I swim out and drown?

8. Skyline Recovery:

Could you take away my fear?
Creation beautifies so clear
Sweet sounds drift away
The colours in the sky today
Now I don't need to know your fame

'Cause the skyline, it fades into my mind
As I drive along this highway
This is my recovery

So you skip another line
As we watch the greyscale sunrise, and sunset
How long was there, say, before you let them sail away?
Now I don't need to know your shame

'Cause the skyline, is greater that your limelight
I'll sing until the dusk cries
This is my discovery

9. Stars That Intervene:

The waves come through clean
And stars that intervene
And this is not what it seems
We're somewhere in-between

Somehow time will congregate
But all those signals hint our doubts
So watch those meanings fall away now
'Cause this, is so, surreal

And everything else is gone
It's all I see again
The need for discerning sounds
It's all I hear again

That smile works it draws a heart again
That hollow gaze, painting hearts again
But watch this star just fall away now
'Cause this is so surreal...

And everything else is gone
It's all I see again?

10. The Melody:

So hold that thought, and hold that smile
And yellow sand, will wash you away
Beneath the line, to be drawn into the sand
I loose my mind, well I just don't know what to say

It happens every time, you focus on the melody
And she will set you free

If you could travel time, would you go back to change your past?
Or would you try, our future while it lasts?
I'd stay right here, to pray for a new day
'Cause everything, could be okay

It happens every time, you focus on the melody
And she will set you free
